Election day…were you satisfied with the results?

Well, yesterday was election day and I can say that I was not happy about one particular outcome, but there is nothing I can do about it.  I voted for who I thought would have been better for the job, but ah well.  Just glad to see all of the signs and political bashing gone for a while.  So…to anyone reading this..were you satisfied with your state/counties election results?

It’s been a while, a very looong while

My first entry in months..wow. Well, as anyone who may have checked on my blog can tell, I absolutely failed at being a dedicated blogger. BUT I’m back, sorta. I actually started a new blog here. I am going to try to start posting entries on this one and my new one. I l tried (and failed miserably) to import this blog over to my new one, so I will just keep this one. I don’t think that I have gotten any readers, but just in case I have..welcome and I look forward to entertaining boring you with my daily ramblings. :)

Where is that leak??

So, we have a leak in our pool. That really doesn’t bother me, but what does bother me, is the fact that we can’t find it. If we could just find it we could hopefully patch it and be enjoying our pool. But, it may be easier to get a new liner..easier on us, but not on the pocketbook.

I haven’t blogged lately, partially due to not having anything to say, partly due to being lazy…lol  Seriously…I’m not lying, I’m lazy *gasp*  I don’t have many (if any) blog readers, so I don’t think anyone is disappointed though. When I started this blog, I was hunky dory about it, thinking it would be a “hit”..why, I dunno, but I guess that’s every new bloggers dream :)

Maybe eventually I will be able to blog about super cool things? I can dream can’t I? ;)   But anyway..this is just a ramble. And a gripe in a way I guess. If anyone happens to read this and knows how to find a pool leak, please let me know. I wanna swim!

Summer, summer, summertime

Does anyone remember this song? Since Memorial Day weekend was always the start of summer for me as a kid, I wanted to post this video to “kick off summer”.

I hope everyone has a wonderful, and most importantly safe Memorial day weekend. Please remember the women and men who have died serving our country, and keep the service men and women and their families in your thoughts and prayers. I pray for God to keep a shield of protection around them at all times. I also want to thank them for my freedom. I hope you do the same. Have a happy and safe summer everyone. Get them grill’s fired up and make sure to keep plenty of ice on the bee….I mean sodas :-)

I’m back from my semi-hiatus

So, it’s been a little while since I have posted an entry. Nearly a week I believe. I haven’t been doing anything, so therefore, I haven’t had anything to write about. Imagine that, me, not doing anything. No, seriously I have been in a sort of “funk” I guess you could say. Just daily worries, ya know. Finances, finances, and oh, did I mention, finances?

Jeremy has been working a lot and he really likes his job. The place he is working for is preparing to open a new store, so they have been busy stocking. Him and I celebrated our 10th anniversary this past Thursday. Wow. 10 years. I thank you Lord for giving us 10 years, and I pray that we have at least 80 more. :-) He worked and so we will celebrate some other time.

I think I’m going to get out the weed-eater this afternoon and chop down the gigantic weeds in the back yard. We have to buy a mower and are planning on doing that in a few days. We have one in mind. It’s a riding mower. We do have a push mower, but Jeremy said it needs a little work. The last time our lawn was mowed, my cousin did it for us and he could only do the front yard because his belt broke. Bless his heart, that was nice of him.

After we get the yard mowed, we need to work on getting the pool opened. I’m so ready for some swimming and a backyard bbq with some fam and friends. Before the backyard bbq though, we have a birds nest that I hope will be empty. The birds decided to make it almost directly above our bbq grill and they are pooping everywhere. It looks like the babies are nearly grown though, so hopefully they will fly away soon..haha.

I would never mess up a bird’s nest..I love animals. I just wish they would have built their nest elsewhere. I mean, seriously, we do have plenty of trees they could have built in. Hmmm..oh well. When they do fly away, I guess we will be power washing the patio area. Not sure if the bbq grill could handle a power washing though..it’s a little rusty looking.

Well, that’s my little “update”. I know it’s not much, but there it is. :-)    I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe weekend! God bless!

Mini family reunion

Yesterday Jeremy’s mom’s side of the family had a little get together. Jeremy thought that he would have to work until 5, so I went to my mom’s and helped her with her yard sale. It sprinkled rain, we didn’t have many customers, we gave up around 11 AM. Right after we get done putting up the stuff, Jeremy pulls up. He only had to work a couple of hours because they got done stocking so he wanted to see if we were going to the family reunion. Yes! I was excited because I absolutely love his family (I absolutely love mine too, but ya know what I mean), and I was happy we were able to go. So we head on over to the park where the reunion was held..bout 30 minutes away. We get there and everyone seemed excited that we were there. Well anyway, the kids were playing, having a good time, and me and one of Jeremy’s little cousins took a walk around the pond and watched the geese and ducks (for all I know they could have all been ducks, or all geese, but I’m quite sure it was a mixture..haha). Here’s a cute picture of some of them..they were quite friendly!

Ahem..I’m back. Decided to wait to upload the picture(s)..It was going a little slow, maybe because I’m on dial up (duh, ha!). Oh, I’ve never mentioned that…yes, I am still on dial up. We live where there isn’t anything but that..unless we wanna pay an arm and a leg for satellite, or a broadband card.

Ok, back to what I was saying..so we strolled around the pond, watched the geese and ducks, and had a good ole’ time. Then, little X-man (Jeremy’s little cousin) decided he wanted to take pictures, so I told him “Ok, just don’t drop the camera, be very very careful.” and he was very careful, bless his heart. He held on to that camera with all his might. He also has natural photography skills..he took pictures of everything..haha! From goose/duck poop, to mud holes, trees, random strangers..he was snapping away. :-)   So adorable! I love kids, I pray God blesses Jeremy and I with at least one some day soon.

It was a great day. We had a lot of fun, and got to see family that we don’t see too often. This was just a mini reunion though..we are having another in July and more family will be there I believe. It’s way past my bedtime, so I better call it a night. Have a blessed day to whoever happens to read this!

Straight talk cell phone service review

With the economy the way it is, it seems like most people are looking for ways to save money. My husband and I have switched from a contract cell phone plan, to a prepaid cell phone plan called “Straight Talk™”.  Straight Talk™ offers several different cell phones, and they offer 2 different cell phone “plans”. You can buy Straight Talk™ phones and/or prepaid cards directly off of their website or you can head to your local Walmart and buy Straight Talk™ phones and/or prepaid cards. I’m not sure what other stores you can buy them at, but I am sure there are other stores that offer them.

Anyway, on to the phones that my husband and I got. We purchased the LG 220C. This was the cheapest Straight Talk™ phone at Walmart. We paid $45.00 + tax and we purchased the $45.00 unlimited 30 day service plan, which includes unlimited talk, text, mobile web and FREE call’s to 411. Very much worth the 45 dollars. You can also get a 30 dollar plan which is 1,000 nationwide minutes, 1,000 nationwide text messages, and 30MB mobile web, and I believe you still get free 411 calls even with this plan. For us, the 45 dollar plan was better because we text a lot.

So, do we like the phones/service? Yes, for the most part we do. My husband LOVES it, while I, myself LIKE it. The phones that we have (the cheaper ones) are very simple. No camera, no video, and that means no multimedia messaging to or from anyone. But, eventually we are going to get the phones that are capable of doing multimedia, and as soon as we do, I will add to this review. But for now, the phones that we have are simply phones. We do text with them, and the thing that I do not like with the texting is that I can only send 1 page of 160 characters or less. With our contract phones (I had an LG Chocolate Touch, and even my older Chocolate was able to do this) I could send 7 pages of 160 characters. So, that for me is a bummer, because my texts always end up going over and I have to send separate text messages to complete what I was saying. Hubby on the other hand is a man of very few words (as most men are..no offense..lol) and so this is fine with him. But for me, I wish they would change this. Now, the more expensive phones  may allow more than 160 characters per text, I don’t know.

The call quality is excellent in mine and my husbands opinion. Everyone I talk to tells me that I sound crystal clear. We rarely have any dropped call’s on our end and the person on the other end is always crystal clear as well. Another plus, is that we actually have service in area’s where our contract phones did not. The customer service is absolutely another story..granted we have not ran into problems as to where we have had to call customer service, but my parents did, and I have read where others have also had to call customer service with the same problem…foreign employees who were very hard to understand and according to my parent’s, and others I have read about, said that the employees did not solve the problem they had very easily, but again, we have thankfully not had to experience this.

Another thing that I miss with having these phones is the ringtones/ringback tones. With our old contract phones, I was able to make ringtones on my computer and send them to our phones fairly easily..but with these, you can not do that, but you can buy the ringtones for $2.99 directly off of the website. As for ringback tones (you know, where music plays for someone when they call you) they do not offer them. But hey, at the cheap price, I honestly chalk these up as minor “issues”.

So all in all, I would rate the Straight Talk™ service a C+. No major complaints here. I am just thankful to even have a phone with the way finances are right now..lol. So, if you are in the same financial slump as we, and many other people are, you may just want to get one of these for yourself. Any questions??? Feel free to ask me and I will gladly try to help and/or find the answer for you.

DISCLAIMER:  I am a Straight Talk™ customer. I purchased the cell phone and the service plan myself and this is my own honest review and opinion. I DID NOT receive this phone and/or service from the company mentioned above, nor did the company mentioned above ask me to review this product nor did the company mentioned above compensate me to give this review.

My new addiction..

Well, I have found a new addiction, and it is……shelled peanuts. I never realized how scrumptious they actually are. Hmmm..taste changes, because I use to not like them. I am sure they are better than chocolate, but the salt in them and how many I consumed can’t be good. So I guess I better lay off of them. Anyway, another weekend is nearing an end. We don’t have any plans for today besides cleaning. Over the weekend we did some yard cleaning and also cleaned the garage. Jeremy had an interview Friday. I think he has the job thank God. It’s so much closer than his previous job and pays a little better too. Yay! Thank you Lord! He goes Monday to do the paperwork (I assume background testing, and drug testing paperwork?).

I had a couple of small wins this weekend too. I won a t-shirt and I also won a Scentsy plug in warmer and 2 Scentsy bars. Yay!!!! I was super excited because I haven’t won anything in a loooong time. Oh, for those of you wondering, I have another addiction….it is called “sweeping”. :-) I enter a whole lot of sweepstakes through online-sweepstakes.com and I love it. Of course you do have to be careful as to what sweepstakes you enter. Always be sure to read the entry rules, and never, ever enter for anything that you can not afford taxes on. Seriously..I know I can not afford taxes on a car, so I just stick with entering for smaller things. I have won big in the past too..in 2006 I won a 50″ Plasma TV through “Dell” and in 2008 I won a “Bose” CD/Stereo system. Of course I paid taxes on them..but it was well worth it! Hubby loves the TV, and was so excited when he found out that I won..hehe. Sweeping is a lot of fun, and I urge everyone to get involved.

Well, today is Mother’s day. Happy Mother’s day to all of the Mother’s out there, especially mine and my husbands, and also to my grandmother. My family is gathering at my Grandma’s later today to eat and visit, so that will be nice. I hope everyone enjoys their day. I better get to bed so I don’t sleep through it…haha!

Is it really PCOS?

In 2000, my husband and I got married. It was my wedding day, and on the way to the church with my maid of honor, I was looking in her mirror in the car (she was driving..lol), when I noticed a stray hair on my chin, I asked if she had any tweezers, she said no, so I just used my moms when I got to the church. Fast forward a couple of months later…I started noticing rapid weight gain, but didn’t think much of it, figured that just comes with being married. Then my period basically became non existent. While I have really never been regular, this was a new one to me. I would at least have a period every couple of months. Then I started getting acne, and I mean a LOT of acne. How weird, I though. I never had much acne going through puberty, but still, I didn’t think it meant much of anything.

Fast forward to 2004…I went to a new gyno who was recommended by my primary care doctor, because my primary care doc thought I had something called Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. So, I go to this gyno, and immediately didn’t care too much for her. She was just not very thorough. She looked at me, told me that I indeed have PCOS, and that she is giving me Progestine (something like that, I don’t remember the exact name of it) to get me to start my period and she sent me on my way. Day 9 into the progestine (or whatever it’s called) I stared gushing, and gushing, and gushing, and gushed for 4 days until enough was enough. I was literally wearing adult diapers and soaking them, and add to that, the cramps were literally unbearable. I was also super dizzy when I stood up. So, my mom called the Gyno to ask what to do. She told my mom to bring me in to the ER (it was morning), so off we went. I was scheduled for an emergency D & C.

Well, the period stopped and I had to follow up with her in 3 weeks. I did, and she told me all looked well. I don’t even remember if she gave me anything, but I don’t think she did, I think she just sent me on my way. Anyway, so that was the last time I went to her. I have been to a couple other gyno’s and basically have given up because I just feel like they don’t really understand PCOS. I had one recommend me seeing an endocrinologist, which I did, and he was appalled as to why I was seeing him. He had not even heard of PCOS and he was about 80 years old. So, that was another big let down.

Needless to say, I haven’t been to the gyno in a year and a half or so. I know I need to go, but It is just very frustrating because all of the gyno’s around my area act as if they don’t know what they are dealing with. Maybe it’s me, I dunno. But anyway, on to what this entry is really about…I have an aunt who is an RN. She and my uncle both are RN’s..and they are wonderful, and I love them soooo much, that’s beside the point though..right..haha. Anyway, she told me she thinks that I have Cushing’s syndrome. Well, I looked up Cushing’s, and low and behold, the symptoms are mostly what I have, but the symptom’s are also very similar to those of PCOS.

So, I am confused…I really don’t know which step to take. I just want to get better. I want a child! I am 30 years old and my husband and I have been married 10 years. I feel we are ready, but I also know that it is up to God. But I look around and see everyone else getting pregnant, and while I am happy for them, I am also sad at the same time. I also have extreme anxiety and depression. I have been having anxiety issues for as long as I can remember. I can not drive and can not stay alone due to anxiety. I want to get better. I do I do! I read that cushings syndrome is cureable, and PCOS is not..so if I had to choose, of course I would choose cushings I guess. I’d rather be normal, but hopefully whoever read’s this, knows what I mean.

Anyway, if anyone runs across this and has any questions, and/or suggestions, please let me know. Sometimes I feel like I am in limbo…mainly due to the fact that we have no insurance, so not many health care choices really.

How time flies…

It’s May already, wow!  This year is flying by. Ya ever notice how slow time goes when you are a kid, and when you get older you don’t know where it went? Kinda sad. I was laying in bed the other night trying to fall asleep and the song “Kiss me” by Sixpence None the Richer popped into my head. It took me back to when Jeremy and I were just dating. I about cried because those day’s were amazing, and we didn’t even know it. I mean, don’t get me wrong, these day’s are awesome too, but back then, we were care free. Only thing we worried about was keeping me from getting pregnant, and now, we are trying everything we can possibly try (well, naturally, as we don’t have the fund’s for in vitro or fertility treatment right now) to get pregnant. Plus the bills…oh the bills, they just keep on piling up non-stop. Back then, we still lived with our parent’s and didn’t worry about anything but gas money, or whether we would have enough money to go see a movie that weekend. Time….spend it wisely.

The past couple of day’s have been very stormy. Last night we had tornado watches out all around us, and tonight we had a pretty good storm pass through. Our poor little Blaney girl (spoiled fur baby #2) was shaking like a leaf and I had to give her one of her chill pills, so she is quietly snoozing under the kitchen table now. God love her, she is so scared of storms and anything that goes boom. 4th of July is her least favorite holiday, and she despises hunting season. I just cuddle up to her and tell her everything’s going to be alright..that’s all I can do. It doesn’t help any though, in fact, our vet said that makes it worse and advised me to just ignore her when she does that…um, ok, I can not do that..she’s my baby.

So, the weekend is coming to an end. Tomorrow is church and afterward we are having a family dinner here at our house. We have invited Jeremy’s cousin and her husband and kids over. I am looking forward to that. I love hanging out with them all, they are a lot of fun. And I love going to hear God’s word, so I’m looking forward to it. Monday we are going to fill out application’s for Jeremy. His job at Walmart did not work out..that was a horrible environment for him, so he just is going to look for something else and I pray it is something closer. The drive was absolutely not worth it, we figured it up and he would have been spending the majority of his paycheck on gas..no can do. I thank God he was able to find that job, but he had to quit..it just was not worth it. I know God will show him the way..we are leaving it up to Him.

Oh, I had such a wonderful surprise the other day!! I am a member of an awesome online sweepstakes forum and every now and then I post or reply to messages on there. Well, I have my blog link in my signature, and one of the member’s there visited my blog and replied to one of my entries about blog buttons. Well, she had seen that I was not “green” (premium subscription on there, which is absolutely worth it!) anymore, so God love her, she paid for a 3 month subscription for me!!! I was ecstatic and was and am very thankful to her. I have added a button to her blog on my page. It is the very top button. Awesome blog and is so worth checking out..so please do. I thank her from the bottom of my heart..that made my day.

Well, it is time to mix up my meatloaf for tomorrow I guess…if the hamburger is thawed completely that it..lol  I’m mixing it up tonight so I don’t have as much to do before church in the morning.  Have a great rest of the weekend! God bless you and yours!
